Programs, Retreats & Events Descriptions
God desires that we be whole-living from our divine essence. Psychological and physical trauma as well as various forms of abuse deeply affects our ability to be our authentic self. However, prayer and spiritual companionship can be powerful ways to help heal our trauma and to experience being fully alive in God. Join us as we discuss the meaning of "trauma" and various forms of trauma, how trauma affects the body, minds and spirit; the healing of toxic shame; inner and outer resources for healing; prayer for healing of memories; how the experience of God's abundant love can foster healing of trauma; and ways that a spiritual companion is a healing presence for others.

A silent directed retreat is a unique way of tending to the Spirit of God by intentionally setting aside time and space for prayer and solitude. Each day there will be the opportunity to meet with a spiritual director for a conversation centered on the directee's relationship with God, as revealed in prayer and in the events and relationships of daily living

Even though no one (not even Jesus) ever defined the Kingdom of God in the Bible, many such as Isaiah, Ezekiel, Matthew, Mark, and Luke spoke about it in images and parables that speak to us even today. Let's see and hear what they are saying.

The goal of communication is not communication; it is communion. In our world of laptops, smart phones, and Kindles, we find ourselves communicating more and more, yet the bonding and communion with God, ourselves and one another has not kept pace with technology. We find ourselves even less understood, cared for, or nurtured by one another. In our day together, we will learn the fine art of prayerful listening where God can be heard in the smallest whisper of our daily lives. Such listening as a way of life nurtures our deepening relationship with Jesus Christ. From it, we are able to "put on Christ," as our very lives begin to flow to and from God, and we discover who we are "in God." Come join us for a day of renewal and self-understanding as we experience first-hand how prayerful listening can change lives, particularly ours.

As winter makes way for spring, we have a wonderful opportunity to embrace the natural wisdom that takes us from the inner stillness, deep knowing and strength of winter to our imagination and the seeds of possibility ready to spring forth. We'll look at several cultural approaches to nature and the elements as we allow ourselves to be guided through the spiral of the seasons. We'll consider how natural law reminds us to embrace change, honor life as it is and gain insight for our next steps. Dress comfortably as we may spend some time outdoors. Throughout the day we'll enjoy times of quiet reflection, as well as time in partnership and in groups to explore nature as our teacher. Materials are provided although participants may want to bring a journal.
