As we observe nature in winter, we notice that it's a time for stillness, inner strength and deep knowing. Our natural surroundings can be a reminder for us to be fully present in each moment as we experience our own inner essence. Even in the silence and solitude of winter, there is much we can learn from nature. This retreat focuses on the Five Element Theory as a call to remember our inner essence, with a focus on the winter season and the element of water. Together we'll explore the messages and gifts of this season as we go within, practicing silence and deep listening from the heart. We'll experience ways to access wisdom and intuition. Dress comfortably as we may spend some time outdoors. Throughout the day we'll enjoy times of quiet reflection, as well as time in partnership and in groups as we explore nature as our teacher. This retreat is appropriate for newcomers and for those interested in further exploring the five element theory. Materials are provided although participants may want to bring a journal.

God desires that we be whole-iving from our divine essence. Psychological and physical trauma as well as various forms of abuse deeply affect our ability to be our authentic self. However, prayer and spiritual companionship can be powerful ways to help heal our trauma and to experience being fully alive in God. Join us as we discuss the meaning of "trauma" and various forms of trauma, how trauma affects body, minds, and spirit; the healing of toxic shame; inner and outer resources for healing; prayer for healing of memories; how the experience of God's abundant love can foster healing of trauma; and ways that a spiritual companion is a healing presence for others.
