Care for the CaregiverCare for the Care Giver: Join us for a Time of Respite

Come away awhile, let us care for you! If you are a caregiver, often you are considered the pillar of strength in your particular situation. We understand the cost of that strength and the burdens of putting yourself at the service of another: the lack of personal time, and the lost energy for other roles.

Rhythms of the Spiritual Life:
Spirituality, Religion, and the Struggle for Integrity

Tom Zanzig

Spend a weekend with author, transformative religious educator, and expert in lifelong faith formation, Tom Zanzig. Tom will help us understand and explore a critical dimension of the spiritual journey: the intersection between our evolving personal relationship with God (personal faith) and our participation in a community of faith (communal religion).

The interplay between personal spirituality and communal religion develops and shifts throughout our lives. It is filled with twists and turns, joys and tensions. Among the many themes we will explore are: the dynamics, rhythms, and patterns of lifelong spiritual transformation; how Christian identity develops through the life process; and how to live both spiritually and religiously with authenticity and integrity.

This program will be repeated in June with a special two-day follow-up program for professional religious educators and evangelization leaders and ministers. Call the Center for information.

Over the last fifteen years has been developing a model for understanding the dynamics of the spiritual life, refining his vision of adult faith formation, and developing concrete strategies for implementing it. More importantly, he has struggled to live his own life with authenticity and integrity. He wants to share what he has learned and learn more from folks like you. Please join him in February or June.

Compassion Through The Eyes
Of St. Ignatius of Loyola

Dr. Edward McCormackOur Bon Secours Compassion Series continues on February 27th with Dr. Edward McCormack of the Washington Theological Union leading the day's reflection on Compassion in the Spirituality of Igantuius Loyola.

Ignatius Loyola, one of the greatest mystics the world has ever known, is called by some a psychological genius of the 16th Century and a man who passionately wanted to do only one thing: to help others find and do God's will in the nitty-gritty reality of daily living. He will be the focus and inspiration of our time together. During this contemplative day, set apart from the usual busyness and demands of daily living, we will gather together in Bon Secours' quiet and beautiful space, to ponder and to rest, to walk and to pray with Saint Ignatius Loyola. Small and large group optional sharing will give us the opportunity to listen and to speak from that contemplative quiet.
