Music at Marriottsville is a project that began in 2009, with the cooperation of local churches and musicians and other artists.

Bon Secours Spiritual Center hosts occasional concerts and musical celebrations by invited artists, choirs and other musicians, using our renovated chapel and organ. The concerts provide an opportunity to showcase talented individuals at Bon Secours. And to introduce our property to new guests who have yet to travel up our hill, as well as to reacquaint friends with another dimension of our program.

Look for announcements of regular Music at Marriottsville sessions.

If you or your group or choir would like to discuss being part of the Music at Marriottsville showcase, please contact Lynn Lieberman at Lynn_Lieberman@bshsi.org or 410.442.1320. We look forward to partnering with you and praising God through the arts.

The Nonesuch Mandolin and Guitar Trio

Music at Marriottsville : The Nonesuch Mandolin and Guitar Trio
Sunday, August 15, 2010, 3:00pm

The Nonesuch Mandolin and Guitar TrioThe Nonesuch Mandolin and Guitar Trio was formed in 2005 by three performing members of the Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra.  The trio consists of Laura Norris and Jim Blanchard on mandolins and Jeff Doll on classical guitar.  They offers a refreshing departure from typical chamber music ensembles, which are dominated by instruments of the violin family.  The trio plays a wide assortment of light classical pieces arranged or transcribed for their trio configuration as well as a nice mix of other styles such as Joplin rags, lovely Italian melodies, concert dances, popular mandolin tunes from a hundred years ago, and others.

Four handed sonatas by
Peggy Brengle and Don Horneff

The recital included Sonatas by Mozart, Moskowski and Bach as part of the couple's four hand-recital portion of the Sunday afternoon program. Dr Thomas Little shared that this was one of the most unique and liveliest concerts of the music series and invited both performers to return in 2010.

Watch this website for more information on their return engagement.

Please join us each third Sunday of the month for Music at Marriottsville in the Chapel at the Spiritual Center.
