Dear Friends.

Bon Secours Spiritual Center joins with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and People of Good Will throughout our region in mourning the death of Archbishop Emeritus William Donald Borders who was buried Friday in Baltimore.

Archbishop Borders was truly filled with the Spirit of God and spent his ministry caring for and healing all whom he met by his sprit of cooperation, hospitality and care. His personal motto, "Auscultabo ut Serviam" ("I listen that I may serve") certainly describes his openness to listen, learn and support all people in their search for God's presence and love. His willingness to extend himself to people was always accompanied with a smile, a light heart and a willingness to join with others in their search to find common ways to God and to do God's will.

At his funeral he was remembered as a man of faith, always looking ahead to discover where God was asking him to be so he would be ready and be helpful to those who needed him. As believer, priest, chaplain, bishop and friend with so many, he set a standard of service and a way of being with us that continues to stir us to great deeds of care for others.

May God welcome him home and may we remember and imitate him in the ways he was truly Good Help among and for us all.
