In an individually directed retreat, the environment is one of prayerfulness and silence. The focus is on the presence and activity of God in one's life. In this silence you are invited...
To deepen your relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
To enjoy hours of silence and solitude away from your busy world. You will have the opportunity to share your prayer experience with a director several times during the weekend.
These meetings will help you:
Notice the reality of God's presence and activity in your life, and
Trust your experience and respond to God's activity and presence with gratitude. The material for prayer is usually based on Scripture, which you and your director will choose.
Although your retreat can have various goals, depending on your needs, personal renewal through encountering God is foundational.Prior experience with a period of silence and solitude is recommended. Bring a Bible and a notebook/journal.
